Patagonian squid or Patagonian longfin squid are caught mainly around the Falkland Islands but are also found along the south coast of South America from southern Peru, to southern Chile and in the Atlantic. They are captured using demersal otter trawls which are dragged along the ocean floor at different depths. They are well known for their delicate flavour and firm texture.
